1 Connect Your Device

Unbox your device and connect it to your computer using the provided USB cable. Check the hologram security seal for any sign of tampering. You will be prompted to download the Trezor Suite application.

The **Trezor Suite** is the native, safe interface for managing your coins. Download it only from the official source.

2 Install Firmware

Once connected and the Trezor Suite is open, you will be guided to install the latest official firmware. This is essential for proper function and security.

  • **Verify:** The Suite will automatically check and propose the correct firmware for your model.
  • **Confirm:** Authorize the installation directly on your physical Trezor device.

Note: Never install unofficial firmware. Only trust the Trezor Suite interface.

3 Create New Wallet

Choose the option to **Create New Wallet**. This process involves generating a unique, random seed. You must have a pen and paper ready for the most critical step.

The Trezor screen will display a list of 12, 18, or 24 words one by one. This is your **Recovery Seed**.

4 Write Down & Backup

Carefully write down the Recovery Seed words in the exact order and spelling shown on the **Trezor screen**. Do this offline.

Once written, store your physical paper backup in a secure, private location. This seed is your **only backup** to restore your wallet if the device is lost or damaged.

Finally, set a strong **PIN** for daily access to finalize setup and secure your device.

What Happens Next?

After completing the four steps, your Trezor is ready! You can now use the Trezor Suite to receive, send, and manage your cryptocurrencies. Remember that your coins are never *on* the device; the device simply holds the keys to access them on the blockchain.
